I would like to share my plotter between two or more computers.
How can I do that?

Please follow these instructions: ’Plotter sharing in EasySIGN.doc’

Although this document describes how to create a local share for connecting to devices for which EasySIGN has no communication driver yet, it can also be used for sharing a plotter.

When printing with the Print Server, a long print sometimes aborts without reason.

If you are using a port type of 'TCP/IP' and you are printing over a network, either to a printbox or directly to the printer network card, sometimes a random abort of a print job can happen.

We have created a document on how to solve this problem, please click on this link to download this document: 'Installing EasySIGN Print Server V5 with a networked printer on W2K and WinXP.doc'. .

How can I import an Illustrator 10 (or newer) worksheet in EasySIGN?

EasySIGN V5 SP5.0.5+:
If you own EasySIGN V5 SP 5.0.5 or newer with a Professional or Master license, use the “Advanced Import (*.AI)” import filter.

EasySIGN V5 SP5.0.5+ Starter:
EasySIGN V5 SP5.0.4 or older:
EasySIGN V4.5 or older:
Illustrator 10 and higher use .PDF with a .AI extension. These versions of EasySIGN cannot import such files without additional steps. To be able to import these files, you have the following four options:
1 Upgrade your EasySIGN V5 Starter to Professional or Master.
2 Update to EasySIGN V5 or newer.
3 If you own an Illustrator license, open the file in Illustrator and use our Compatibility feature.
4 You have to save the .AI file as version 8 or older. The required procedure can be found below:
4.1 Select the menu "Select, Object, Text objects".
4.2 Select the menu "Type, Create outlines".
4.3 Select the menu "File, Export".
4.4 In the export dialog select as type : Illustrator legacy (*.AI).
4.5 Name the file different then the original and click on "Export".
4.6 In the combobox under "Version" select : Illustrator 8, and click on "OK".
4.7 Import the file in EasySIGN.

When will EasySIGN V5 support Vista?

EasySIGN V5 Service Pack (SP 5.0.5), which has been released in July 2007, installs and runs on Windows Vista.
It is however NOT yet 100% compatible with Windows Vista.
The following issues with Vista are still to be solved in a future SP:

- Archive:
Archive appears to be unable to create folders if Vista’s ‘UserAccountControl’ is switched on.
This is not the case. The folders end up somewhere in the User profile folder.
This is caused by Windows Vista protecting the ‘Program Files’ folder.
Please consult the Vista manual on how to switch off this UAC feature.

- ezColor:
ezColor can be installed from within the PrintServer.
But once you run it, the error-message ‘Can’t locate ResourceDLL for application’ is displayed.
