Extended Compatibility

Extended Compatibility is installed during the EasySIGN Setup. Don't look for the word "Extended" in the Setup Wizard. If you have either the Extended or the "Normal" Compatibility, is determined by your EasySIGN Design license. If you own an EasySIGN Starter license, you will have the "Normal" Compatibility and with an EasySIGN Professional license or an EasySIGN Master license you will have the Extended Compatibility.

Extended Compatibility

How does the extended Compatibility work?

Sign Center

Exactly the same as with the normal Compatibility (see the explanation on the Compatibility page) with one huge difference.

Now you have a menu called "Sign Center". Make sure that you can see CorelDraw™ and select the option "Sign Center" form the Compatibility menu in the system tray.

You will be presented with the hart of the system. An easy to use floating dialog with Sign making functionality grouped by category.

Sign Center

When opened for the first time the categories are closed. The first group you should open is "Options", just by clicking on the name of the group.

Sign Center Options

Commands are divided by rows, on the left is the description of a command and on the right a miniature button that executes that command. Click the button of the command called "Settings". This will open a dialog where you have two settings you should look at:

  • Start program in system tray
If this option is checked the icon for Compatibility will always appear in the system tray and you will have to start the "Sign Center" window from the Compatibility menu. If you uncheck this option the "Sign Center" window will launch every time when you open CorelDraw™ and there will be no Compatibility icon in the system tray.
You will still have direct access to the transfer/export option by using the "Export to EasySIGN" command or the shortcut button in the caption of the "Sign Center" Window.

    Export
  • Unit
Here you can select your preferred unit, "mm", "points", "Inch" and "cm".

The next command you should select (after closing the options dialog) is "Select Language", this opens a dialog where you can set your language. Restarting CorelDraw is not necessary.

These are all the settings you will have to make.

So what do I get extra?

Quite a lot actually, but since this is an introduction and not a manual, we will only address the different commands briefly.

We will first explain the remaining commands under "Options" and then go on per category.

Export to EasySIGN

The most important command of all, this will transfer the CorelDraw™ worksheet to EasySIGN where it is ready to output.

Optimize for export

CorelDraw™ supports different angles for pen shapes. As a result you can draw something like this:

But when you try to cut this you will get one single stroke.

Optimize for export

After using "Optimize for export" you will get what you would expect.
