First some smaller items:

• It is now possible to quickly change between the 'color pipette' and the 'paste color tool''. Just press the Ctrl-button while holding down the Shift-button.
• It is now possible to extract masks in any EasySIGN License.
• In addition to holding the spacebar an pressing the left mouse button it is now possible to also scroll the worksheet with just the middle mouse button pressed.
• It's now optional to show the page size in the status bar. The setting can be found here: "View, Settings...", followed by choosing the tab : "Page".
• It's now possible to remove a Magic Wand with the "Bitmap, Remove Magic wand" function.
• Bitmap types like Photoplot, Vectorization and 'Magic wand' can also be cropped with the drag tool.
• A 'magic wand' can now be converted to a mask or a transparent bitmap.

 

EasySIGN import behavior

 

Up till now EasySIGN would for example, always import an EasySIGN file at the lower left corner of a worksheet and an Illustrator™ file at it's original location. The user had no influence on this behavior. This has not only been changed but also a new method of import has been added.

 

The possibility to import "under the mouse cursor". The imported file (or files) can be placed by clicking, which will maintain the original size or by dragging the mouse to determine the size while importing.

 

Also it is possible to select multiple files in the import dialog.

 

Where are the settings?

Select the menu "File, Settings" and click on the tab called : "Import". On that tab you will find a group called "Location".

 

 

You can set the behavior for different types of import separately. There are tree options to choose from:

• Using 'File, Import...' and 'Drag & Drop'.
  Whenever you choose the menu "File, Import" and when you drop items from the explorer on to an EasySIGN worksheet.
• Using 'Archive Import'.
  Whenever you select a file in Archive and choose "Import" from the context menu.
• Using 'Compatibility'.
  Whenever you import/transfer a file with the help of Compatibility.

You have to select one of the options and consequently select the desired behavior from the combo box with the caption : "Desired location", that’s it.

 

 

Print directly from any application to the Print Server

With this option active you can print directly from any application to the Print Server. You could even print this web page on your large format printer.

 

The Setup

This is by far the easiest way to set up a feature like this. No manual adding of PPD's to obscure locations, no manual editing of ini files, just a two step Wizard is all there is to it.

 

Start the Print Server.

 

Right click on the hot folder of a printer you would like to print to from any application and select the option "Link with Windows printer".

 

 

You get the welcome screen of the Wizard.

 

 

Press "Next" and the Wizard will show the progress of the process, this will take less than a minute.

 

 

In the next page of the Wizard you can even share the printer over your network just by activating that option and entering a desired share name, how easy can it get?

 

 

Now just press "Finish" and you are ready to go!

 

From within any application that can print, you just select the option "Print". In the dialog where you could normally only select your desktop printer, you can now select the name of your hot folder. If for example the name of your hot folder is "Bitmap (Windows BMP) Driver", that name is now available in you print dialog preceded by the text "EasySIGN Print Server - ". So the full name would be " EasySIGN Print Server - Bitmap (Windows BMP) Driver".

You can add as many Windows printer as you like. This enables you to have a list of printers based on every hot folder. These printers can be reached over your network like any other shared Windows printer.
